The DMK-Congress front in Tamilnadu finalized the seat sharing for the 2009 Lok Sabha election in the meeting held in Chennai. This was announced by the DMK leader and Tamilnadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi yesterday. The meeting was attended by Congress leaders, Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Tamilnadu leaders. The DMK allocated the following seats to its ally,
DMK - 21
Congress - 16

Earlier for 2004 Lok Sabha election, DMK and Congress contested from 15 and 10 constituencies respectively. At that time the allies included in the DMK-Congress front are PMK, MDMK, CPI, CPI(M), etc. Since the allies are spreaded now, Congress got more share for the 2009 election.
